About the Artist

bird wanna whistle

There was a time when the most sublime experience Corinna Robbins could fathom was that wonderful moment of stepping out of an overly air-conditioned airport into the humid, smelly air and the dimly lit buzz of a third-world city. Something about that mix of confusion, nerves and excitement, well, that's the feeling of being alive! Time and a profusion of various other lucky circumstances, including community, family, and home have conspired to turn Corinna into a more grounded adult. With her Nikon in hand, Corinna likes to pretend she’s still a traveler, experiencing the click of the shutter sends a little ripple of wakefulness up her spine, and her eyes search the details of her environment like never before. Corinna’s photography practice encourages a mindfulness that the familiar patterns of the day-to-day can easily blur. So she shoots. Landscapes, people, stories. There's nothing Corinna loves more than the sense of capturing a fleeting moment and preserving it lovingly.
